About Us
The Killearn Malawi Group (KMG) is managed by a Committee of up to 9 Trustees, appointed annually by the Friends of KMG.
KMG arose out of contacts which Killearn Kirk made with a mission partner working with the Church of Central Africa, Presbyterian (CCAP), in the north of Malawi. Many church projects were supported, and materials sent out in containers. When the work of fundraising and supporting projects increased, it was decided to establish and register KMG as a charity to act as a focus of the work.
One of the Trustees lived and worked in the extreme south of Malawi, and through his contacts, KMG started working with communities there as well.

Our Mission
Our mission is the prevention and/or the relief of poverty in Malawi, and the advancement of Health and Education. We achieve these aims by:
- Working directly with communities in Malawi to assess their needs
- Working in partnership with communities and with other partners to respond to these needs
- Considering the sustainability of all projects
- Providing opportunities for training to promote sustainability of projects
Who we work with
KMG works with partners who live or are deeply involved in work in Malawi.Â
In Mzuzu district in the north, we have supported the work of the Raven Trust and the Bananabox Trust, and have continued to support the work of the CCAP, Livingsonia Synod, and Hilltop Craft Group and Nursery through contacts with the Rev Levi and Mrs Ruth Nyondo.Â
We also support projects in the most southerly district, Nsanje, one of the poorest districts in Malawi. Our partner there is Dr Kondwani Chidziwisano, a lecturer in the Malawi Universtiry of Business and Applied Science, and a doctoral graduate of Strathclyde University. We are also fortunate to have the support of Dr George Hope Chidziwisano, through his company, NetsoftMalawi, who designed this website.
